Our Services

DEVA’s licensed physical therapists assess and provide treatment to patients of all ages that increases mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. Our therapy programs use physical activity, exercise, and additional treatments such as massage to aid in strengthening, healing, and relieving pain after an injury, illness, or operation. We also coordinate with family and community resources to maximize the patient’s rehabilitation process.

Each visit with DEVA PT is a one-on-one session with a therapist in the comfort of your home, home gym, or office. If you have exercise equipment available we will help select that which is best suited for your recovery program. If not, there is no need to worry as the therapist will provide all necessary fitness equipment. We also provide virtual online Physical Therapy. Our therapists are leading providers of telehealth services in New York, New Jersey & Florida.

Our Programs

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is an alternative for treating those patients in need of essential rehabilitation services. Virtual physical therapy allows patients to access our services from the safety of their own home and still receive quality one-on-one care and education from a licensed healthcare professional.

Telehealth physical therapy as a tool for education.

Patient education is a primary component of physical therapy telehealth. While manual therapy is still an important component to our treatments, it’s certainly not the be-all-end-all. In fact, many of us can attest to the fact that too much manual therapy makes our patients dependent upon us, when what they really need is to be up and moving.

http://www.flhealthsource.gov/telehealth is the perfect way to educate patients who otherwise couldn’t access care. Whether they’re under shelter-in-place orders or simply unable to make it to appointments under normal circumstances, there are tons of options to use telehealth PT as an educational tool.

Rehab Mat Pilates

Developed in the early 20th century, Pilates has taken off as a method of rehabilitation in the last fifteen years as therapists recognized the many benefits of core stabilization when treating common movement conditions. While Pilates is known for incorporating equipment like the Reformer, DEVA’s approach focuses on Pilates mat exercises that require no apparatus and can be performed by clients at home. Clients of all ages enjoy these safe yet challenging core exercises that target multiple body parts with each movement. Our Pilates program successfully treats many conditions and diseases including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, knee conditions like osteoarthritis and patellofemoral syndrome (runner’s knee), and hip injuries.

Therapeutic Exercise

Our exercise program involves a thorough and carefully designed strength and flexibility program specific to the patient’s needs and goals. Although patients may have the same diagnosis, each individual has their own unique situation, beliefs, abilities, and objectives. For these reasons, none of our programs are cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all strategies.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy includes massage, soft tissue work, neuromuscular reeducation, and manual guidance from the therapist. These techniques decrease overactivity of injured neuromyofascial tissue by breaking up muscle adhesions (knots). The resulting decreases in inflammation and tension and increased muscle elasticity will allow the client’s joints to move through their full range of motion.

Self-Performed Exercise

Throughout your treatment you will be given exercises to be performed on your own. Educating and empowering the patient to become an active participant in their recovery are the most important skills a physical therapist can impart. It’s important to remember the therapist is only with you for a few hours a week, during the remaining time it’s essential that you take control of your health and rehabilitation.
